Neat! I remember that presenting (from memory) a slightly longer proof that pi is irrational was the final question on my Analysis oral exam. It is surprising how many people know that pi is not rational, yet how non obvious is the proof. Like the first one ever presented. This one is also a nice piece of cake, pulls this polynomial f(x) from a hat. |
