I have a kickstarter project that's surpassed it's funding goal to support the development of a not-yet-existing open source project. Im 99% sure it succeeded because I'm already entrenched in the community it is targeted at, which doesn't help the diversity angle. It is encouraging for me because it allows me to dedicate myself exclusively to open source for the remainder of the year.
