I'm a programmer who fell in love with computers and programming at 13 c.1988 learning BASIC on the BBC Micro B at school. Within a year, I was copying big programs (games and utilities) from books and mags, translating to BBC BASIC along the way. Soon, I was writing ones of my own: games, puzzles, mazes, database utils with random disk i/o, graphic screen dumps (as they were called then) to the dot-matrix printer (fx-80), banners, music demos, teletext mode quizzes, etc. Heck, I even taught myself 6502 assembly!

Today, having worn many hats, I'm mostly involved with full-stack platforms and infrastructure work in the Linux ecosystem to glue together a plethora of solutions leveraging open source tools and stacks with as little programming as possible myself :-(
