Show HN: Tilde Pay – Give your AI agent a bank account to pay for things (my.tildepay.ai)
3 points by solsol94 2 days ago
hey HN, I'm Daniel - I built Tilde Pay during a hackathon I took part in and couldn't stop working on it. It's an MCP server you can give your AI agent to buy things online with. It can process both x402, MPP payments & (hopefully soon), any card checkout form online.

When you sign up, you get EUR and USD denominated bank account details to send deposits to which convert to USDC within a minute of receipt for your agent to spend in their own crypto wallet. You can then add the MCP server to Hermes, OpenClaw, ChatGPT or Claude really easily.

For example, you can use it to pay for services listed on https://agentic.market/ . My goal is to support traditional card checkout forms so agents could pay on any online retailer.

I built this in a hackathon a few weeks ago and haven't put it down since. Please give it a try and let me know what you think. One of the biggest concerns around AI-driven payments was security and I thought the safest option would be to spin up "sandbox" bank accounts that AI could use to spend instead.

I know this space is quite controversial & hyped up - so please let me know your thoughts and sentiment.

Adios

Homepage is nothing but "Sign in to continue" .. wow. Perhaps run an anonymous twin of the entire service too. See how they diverge over time. Expect massive legal and KYC stuff too. Maybe don't use a bank account anywhere and just accept direct crypto deposits?

Knowing where funds are spent can be very valuable market research. Useful in due-diligence. Best of luck.

Hey! Thanks for the message.

> Homepage is nothing but "Sign in to continue"

The main homepage leaves a lot to be desired but point noted - I'll update the link to direct there instead.

not 100% sure what you mean here. Could you explain further?

> Expect massive legal and KYC stuff too

Noted. The banking provider forces KYC which users go through on sign up before the account details & Privy managed ( https://www.privy.io/ ) wallet that stores the USDC is all provisioned.

> Maybe don't use a bank account anywhere and just accept direct crypto deposits

This would avoid a lot of legal + KYC but I'm aiming to target "power users" who don't necessarily need to know how to on-ramp & off-ramp crypto. This product may be too early for this wave of users but I'd like to have something that just feels like you've opened up a debit / savings account that you can give to your agent instead of providing access to your own details.

Thank you!

anonymous twin - if you're ever hacked, make sure the attacker can't identify users. Don't ask for emails or phone numbers. Provide users with 10 login strings that must be used sequentially. To login, use #1 string first + PIN and as soon as #2 string + PIN is used, #1 is automatically cancelled. They are not one-time logins. Can be used repeatedly.

Have an emergency passcode to be used for a new set of 10 after a fortnight time delay that neutralizes the previous 10. I am just making this up - I don't even know if any of this is truly necessary.

This has done something odd to my brain.

The security issues and chance for direct harm makes me immediately recoil. "No, never, not even once as a joke." levels of nope. The sort of thing you would hear mentioned and move past without a second thought because obviously no one should or will ever do that.

...and yet it also feels like the sort of thing that could be a common, every day kind of thing. Is this really that different from an automated drop shipping company? A piece of logistics software that makes sure there are always pens and napkins?

I am going to stop thinking about this now. If MCP based automated purchasing is the future, I will let others build it.

For context, "No, never, not even once as a joke" was my initial response to the idea too. What really changed that for me was thinking about the bank account & crypto wallet, really as a "sandbox" from your actual funds.

Ultimately, for better or worse, AI will be making purchase decisions and my interest is more about how to sandbox them & make them safe (even though this is quite a rudimentary first pass!)
