Well the oil companies have to get rid of their toxic contaminated waste in some way, it's every citizen's duty to help them with this by absorbing some of said contaminants.

(I know that radiation scares carry more weight but it's pretty tiny, I'd be a lot more concerned about the hydrocarbons and heavy metals in there).
