remember manufacturing in the U.S employs 10X more people than tech does.

trump tariffs are the reason the numbers are going dow.

Where are you getting the numbers? Are you going by NAICS codes?

Here - https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/MANEMP for Number of Manufacturing jobs down to 12 million. a Few years ago it was going up before trump came in again.

remember tech sector roughly employs 2 million people thereabouts.

They want a poor and desperate workforce that they can more easily exploit.

No it's even worse: they (the admin) are just actual stupid people.

St Louis Fed is really angling for that Beigie award.
