I have my own web dev business in the UK and have struggled getting new clients recently. The word of mouth + referral bonuses dried up completely, which was a shame as client aquisition is always pretty hard, so if people do it for you, winner winner chicken dinner! Anyway, i watched one of those videos on looking at google maps listings to find businesses listed without a website or just a socialmedia account link. And thought why not make my own lead source using Google places API to pull in whatever i wanted and get calling the ones that don't have a site etc. Surprisingly this has gone better than expected, 2 conversions from roughly 50 contact details pulled, i was in shock. Yes its cold calling but ive gotten a real thrill out of it. So basically i decided to push it live to world and see if others would even want this service, its been live with everything linked up for roughly one week and a resounding 0 sales thus far. Ill keep it going as my little side project, but for now it landed 2 clients that i would have spent a while finding through maps otherwise. have a good day everyone!
