Is it legally or ethically much different than the old "Sorry, but Quinn wasn't authorized to make such a deal..." escape excuse for human sales agents by their human sales managers?

The real problem is the quality of US built BMWs. Not as good as the German built ones. Otherwise this poor chap wouldn't have had to offload it.
