Vitamin D acts more like a hormone than a vitamin (empirical.health)

Vitamin D is a hormone. I think it got called a vitamin so that people would be sure to get enough of it in their diet.
This reads…vaguely slop-like. Does the source commonly use AI?
The premise is correct, but this particular source is definitely an ad for a blood testing program.

> The [Vitamin D Receptor] VDR is part of the nuclear receptor superfamily of steroid hormone receptors, which are hormone-dependent regulators of gene expression. These receptors are expressed in cells across most organs. [1]

Sponsored content can still be well written. This one has that paragraphs-blurring-together-meaninglessly with some random-jargon effect sprinkled on that used to make me think commercial writing, but which I increasingly suspect to be slop.
It also concludes with a pitch to become a member of their program.
I didn't click the link. (My first guess is this was inspired by a Benny Hill joke.)
Vitamin D makes a hormone, in my experience
