Show HN: Reassign – a 24-hour dial for planning your day (reassign.app)
8 points by smuk3c 18 days ago
For years I've used paper and a printed clock to organise my day. Found it way better than any list or timeline app.

Played around a bit and made a digital clone to speed things up: Reassign.app (best experience is on desktop)

Anyone else think of their day as a circle rather than a list?

edit: it also has MCP integration (https://reassign.app/api/mcp) — my Claude already connects to Linear and Calendar, so I use it to start and plan my day. I can quickly get a skeleton of a day out and then polish until done.

Well design and intuitive. Beat trying to put my days out in a calendar app. I think it gives a nice representation for the day and if you import in the day's event from Google Calendar , Apple or whatever, it saves some typing.
Working on calendar integration already. Don't wanna do blind imports, but intentional ones. Work calendar can have buzz I don't wanna see on my daily schedule :)
Also wanna say it's a work in progress and new features are on the way :D

Current roadmap is available here: https://reassign.ai/roadmap

Nice, but the indexDB don't carry over to other browsers. Preventing the right-click is also an annoyance, and the price tag is probably way to high.
IndexedDB is there to support offline-first. Behind it there's a sync engine. Initially a guest profile is created, which gets merged the moment you log in, and that's when your session gets carried over across browsers ;)

p.s. right click can be annoying if you wanna inspect :D for me it's useful when I'm duplicating events or copying day to day. But got the point, will limit it only to the dial itself.

You're right regarding the price. I've lowered it. I think it makes sense now. Also shipped an update with right click. Now it's bound only to the dial in the center :)
Really happy with all the feedback — thank you! If you want to support the project, use code HACKERS for 20% off (lifetime)
I have actually been trying to build something like this for myself, but yours is simply better truly nailed the aesthetic!
thanks, really appreciate it :) simplicity, simplicity, simplicity
Love this, I had the same design concept for an iOS app but never got to making it. great work
thanks! you should still build yours, would love to see it!
This is perfect for visualizing context switching and the dead time between meetings.
That's the idea behind it. I have a day job, a few personal projects and 3 kids. I need to visualise my day if I wanna make it work :D
Interesting UX, simple and at the same time, feeling so "new/fresh" !
Thanks for the compliment :D I wanted it to be simple so I don't waste time. There are also a lot of shortcuts, gestures, and other hidden features. I need to create some video showing how I use it personally.
yep it would be interesting. Sadly, it will not replace Outlook/Gmail calendars, but maybe with an integration?
No plan to replace calendars. It's more of a ritual / planning phase. I wanna see how my day looks, how it feels. That's why there's all the color and fill coding on event blocks :D Integrations are on the way. The plan is to integrate with calendars and also todo apps. You make blocks on the dial and then add tasks to them. No plan to automate it fully, since manual work is what wires the brain.
It also has MCP integration (https://reassign.app/api/mcp) — my Claude already has a connection to Linear and Calendar. So I'm using it to start and plan my day. I can quickly get a skeleton of a day out and then polish it until it's done.
I think it can be better with a notify.
Wow! Tell me more?
Doesn’t seem to work on mobile
Never mind I just didn’t read the tutorial I was expecting to be able to tap the dial to create an event like google calendar
Yeah, I didn't expect to use mobile for planning, just visuals. You'll find best experience on desktop
Shipped update for mobile, have fun ;)
