Ugh. This is so revealing of how they truly think. It’s not about helping you discover great artists, or to celebrate great music. Instead it’s about “monthly active users”, “content minutes”, and who knows what other MBA metrics. A clear sign of enshittification, right from the top.

Imagine if they’d said “music is one of the things that makes us human. At Spotify we celebrate the creativity and skill of great musicians”. But no. Fsck those guys.

I find that my mom is mostly listening to AI music. I told her it's AI slop music, and she said she doesn't care, it sounds good to her.

I think many people like her actually do not care much as long it keeps people entertained
