of course, open weights were t source, so its more theyre changing brandnames the same way noname store brands are often just a change in packaging.

In the grand scheme of things, this isn't shocking. The push for OSS weights and outputs (looking at you, GPT-OSS) is great and all but the SOTA still sits within proprietary, closed-source land.
