Show HN: Campfiree – A social platform where users govern everything (campfiree.com)
3 points by jambla 89 days ago
I built Campfiree because I got tired of platforms treating users as products. On Campfiree, users submit feature ideas and vote on them weekly. Moderation is handled by randomly selected community juries, no corporate team deciding what's acceptable. It's free with ads or $7/year without (free during beta). We have 55 users so far and ship features every week based on what the community votes for. I'd love honest feedback on the model and the product.

Can you expand more on the customer outcome.. and the value for businesses as well.
For users: the outcome is a platform that actually reflects what they want. Features, moderation, even post types are driven by community votes. Less “algorithm pushing content,” more control and transparency.

For businesses: it’s not really an ads-first play.

More about:

- real-time user feedback (public voting on features)

- niche targeting via topics

- better signal / less toxicity from the mod system

- participating in communities vs just broadcasting

Still early, so a lot of this will evolve with the community. The main idea is build trust first, then figure out the business layer with users, not against them.

Thanks for the question, hope I was able to answer it.
