the whole time during 2023-2024 AI safety/ethics/regulations discourse by Western politicians, journalists and other glorified nobodies, I desperately hoped that China would catch up and wrecking ball the shit out of those deluded attempts to hamper technological progress. and all this impotent rage brings a smile to my face.
