Show HN: Send encrypted messages to the future (Client-side Time Capsules) (encrypter.site)
1 points by zealer 140 days ago
I've updated Encrypter.site with a new Time Capsule feature. It lets you "seal" a message that is mathematically impossible to open until a specific date and time you choose.

It's built on top of the Drand network, ensuring that there is no central authority holding the keys. No sign-up required, zero server-side storage of your data.

Try it out and let me know what you think.

If the Drand network ceases operation or performs a root key rotation/reset before a user's chosen unlock date, does this imply permanent and irreversible data loss?
That would require a quorum of the 18 institutions comprising the globally distributed League Of Entropy. https://docs.drand.love/docs/timelock-encryption/
