That seems completely reasonable if part of the job is moving devices around to install/update hardware.
This looks like an IT role where you may have to move machines in and out of server racks.

When I worked the kitchen back in the Formula 47 days, the shortening came in 50 pound blocks that needed to be moved around and dumped into the fryers. That's what came to mind first.

Also if you were assigned to unload the trucks, standing in a walk in freezer at 0 degrees F at 5:00am, catching cases of hamburger patties and french fries off of a roller ramp and stacking them up. That was fun.
Been there, done that. It still beat reassembling the shake machine.
I will mention this to the McDonalds employee the next time they roll their eyes at me after ordering 50 lbs of Chicken McNuggets.
Any work aged human should be able to lift 50lbs.

That's roughly the weight of a small child or the torsional force required to drag an average sized male on grass.

That's the weight of a Fully loaded suitcase for a flight.

I mean, it's a fraction of the linear force required to push a stalled sedan and about the necessary force to remove, maneuver, or install a car battery

Lifting 50 lbs should be a general societal requirement. Thanks McDonald's for stating the obvious.
