Lol. I predicted this would happen in the early 2000s, and I finally got to see it happen. Companies didn't want to deal with piracy anymore and made everything a service. The same thing has now happened with software.

The only think piracy has done is entrench big players and push out any small company from making a living. Bravo!!

In fact they didn't make just services: they made good services. It happened with Netflix or Spotify. For the first time ever, piracy was a worse option. Netflix and Spotify were convenient and affordable.

Then came enshittification, of course.
