We built an AI headshot generator that looks real (not over-edited) (headshotphoto.io)

Tried it and it worked quite well! Out of 100 headshots I got maybe 3 to 5 that I would use. A low hit rate but I think anything like this is necessarily going to employ a shotgun approach.

The edit feature needs work. Anything I tried to edit was unusable. I ended up taking the best photo and adjusting the background in Nano Banana.

I actually need something like this for my startup... we’re fully remote and don’t have consistent photos for our team page and investor proposals. I used Gemini and ChatGPT but they looked really bad! let's see how this turns out.
Maybe it's just me, but they all look over-edited.

Every single face is shining like they've been polished and apparently everyone has baby face skin, no texture at all.

Not gonna lie, some pictures on their page look over smoothened, some look real.
This is interesting, what image models are you using for this?
how do you handle privacy and photo retention? Are the uploaded images deleted after generation, or do you use them for any kind of model training later on?
