Show HN: Sora2 watermark is heavy, so I built a one-click remover (sorawatermarkremover.net)

Since Sora’s second-gen video tool, the corner watermark has become noticeably harder to deal with. When distributing clips to other platforms—especially for vertical edits, mashups, or remixes—it looks out of place. I often need a clean version for editing and packaging, so I built a simple button: upload → click → download. Site: sorawatermarkremover.net

What it does

Automatically detects the corner region and cleans it with AI in one click;

Works with default settings—no manual tweaking for most clips;

Outputs common formats that drop straight into your edit/distribution flow.

Boundaries & use

For content you own or are authorized to edit only. Please don’t remove marks that must remain or use it for infringement.

This isn’t an ownership check; I rely on user responsibility. If stronger guardrails are needed, I’m open to adding them.

Privacy

No login required to try;

Processing is server-side; I don’t use uploads for training or share them;

Retention/deletion policy will be tightened and clarified based on feedback.

Known issues

Fast motion + complex textures may show subtle artifacts;

Heavily compressed footage is more likely to reveal edges. I welcome hard cases.

Why HN This started as a small button for my own distribution workflow, and I’d love honest feedback:

Web app vs a Chrome extension—which would you prefer?

Any watermark scenarios in distribution that I’m missing?

Suggestions on policy/abuse prevention.

What’s next

Batch processing and API if there’s demand;

A “light blend” mode that favors natural look over total removal.

Thanks for reading—feel free to share short clips that break it, and I’ll follow up.

That's only the visual watermark... the tree trunk still remains.
