I recently paid the Apple Store to replace the battery/top case/keyboard on my 8 year old MBP because the M-series I have can't do a few things Intel-based Macs can.

The M-series are awesome and incredibly fast for web browsing & video work, but I agree that Intel Macs will be useful a long time.

Still rocking a Skylake Hackintosh from 2016 that can handle any type of work that I need (motion design, audio production, web dev etc.).
