I built this after running into the same problem: AI chats get messy fast. Exploring tangents usually means losing context or duplicating half the conversation.

OpenAI recently added a "branching" feature, but it still feels more like cloning chats than keeping them organized. I wanted something closer to Slack-style threads.

So I made SideThreadAI, a Chrome extension that adds threads to ChatGPT and Gemini: - Start a side thread from any message. - Keep the main chat clean while exploring tangents. - Works directly in both ChatGPT and Gemini.
