The hypothesis is that "Intelligence amongst vertebrates evolved multiple times." Octopi are not vertebrates.

The title is overreaching.

I'm not sure if AI is at the level, but I think it's true that they are concentrating in one feature and I'm not sure if "AGI" will use that feature or a workaround.
