Designing for the web ought to mean making HTML and CSS (2019) (signalvnoise.com)

Two things I've been saying for as long as I can remember

"Using Photoshop to create something that resembles a website doesn't make you a web designer, just as creating an image of a house wouldn't make you an architect."

"Design without consideration for manufacturing[1], isn't doing design. It's doing art."

[1] which is what Photoshop-driven "web design" typically is.

as a designer who can do HTML and CSS, it’s nice to read that there are some orgs who appreciate this. but I still try to avoid JS and use chatgpt or something when I must write JS. sorry not sorry
I wonder the subtlety in the understanding of this will be lost with AI.
and js, not this ts garbage
