While savings with WebP can be impressive, may I suggest AVIF? It can compress even smaller, perhaps up to half of a similar looking JPEG. (WebP is about 75% JPEG.) Browser support is practically the same as WebP (both over 90%). [0]

I have a rough understanding of AVIF, and it seems that its support isn't widespread enough yet. I'll look into AVIF in more detail later.
