Hey HN! I'm Jim, and I'm excited to share Digest.fm - a platform I built that automatically creates and publishes AI-generated podcasts every day at 6 AM.

TL;DR: Digest.fm turns any newsletter or URL into an AI-generated podcast, published automatically to Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube.

The problem: Like many of you, I was struggling to keep up with the firehose of information in the tech world. I wanted to stay updated on AI developments and Product Hunt launches but couldn't find the time to read everything.

The solution: I built Digest.fm to create daily podcast digests for me. Now, I wake up to freshly published episodes summarizing the latest news and launches.

How it works: 1. Choose your content source (articles, newsletters or any URL) 2. Our AI curates and summarizes the content 3. It generates a podcast script and narrates it with natural-sounding AI voices 4. The episode is automatically published to major platforms

Real-world proof: I've launched two podcasts using Digest.fm:

Hey I currently use Pocketpod, I really like that they get uploaded to spotify same as your product. Could you maybe elaborate why is this better?

Thanks for the question! I actually hadn't heard of PocketPod before - it looks pretty cool.

The main difference is that Digest.fm is more of a general-purpose tool. You can point it at any URL or newsletter and it'll create a podcast from it. So it's not just for news, but for any content you want to listen to instead of read.

Some key points:

1. You choose the exact sources. Could be niche blogs, newsletters, whatever.

2. Make multiple podcasts on different topics. I've got one for Product Hunt and another for AI news.

3. It publishes straight to Spotify, Apple, YouTube etc.

4. Super simple to use - just paste in a URL or your own script and you're good to go.

5. Works great for businesses too - you could turn internal updates into podcasts for employees.

6. You could run native ads - earning money with your podcast.

The idea is to be flexible. Maybe you want a daily tech news podcast, or a weekly summary of research in your field, or to turn your company blog into audio content for customers. Digest.fm lets you do all that.
