Show HN: See the best rated areas in a city (stayinbestarea.com)

Instead of only looking for best-rated places look at best-rated areas. The areas are derived based on Google Maps rating. You have some pre-loaded data you can choose from (coffee, gym, cowork, restaurant etc). Finally, you can rank addresses based on proximity to businesses.

Play around with it here: app.stayinbestarea.com

It looks pretty interesting, but without any US cites (and specifically US cities near me), I can't really evaluate how accurate it is based on my own experiences.

I do like the idea. I live near some notoriously dangerous cities (Detroit and Flint), and I think maps that show the good areas would be pretty interesting and useful to people looking to visit.

Thanks! Indeed, I thought of adding safety-related data, however, its very difficult to source and not consistent across cities.
This is an interesting project, but I don't see how it works better than asking an LLM what are the best neighborhoods to stay in a given city. The end result is pretty much the same since most of the best neighborhoods to stay are common knowledge. And with limited cities, the usefulness of this app is also limited.
When I travel often, I spend quite a lof of time digging through data, and an LLM doesn't do it justice, I want to know exactly what is on the ground. I do however r admit that its an extremely niche problem and often just superficial and for most an LLM does job just fine.
nice design
Thank you!
