Show HN: I Made an AI Software Engineer with Google Gemini 1.5 Flash (saas-quick.com)
6 points by gr00ve 727 days ago
Hey HN!

Thank you for all the support and feedback on my original submission 2 months ago. I've been improving the backend using a MCTS/AlphaZero approach and it's currently producing much better results.

My long term goal is to allow users to manage multiple projects, deployed autonomously, both from scratch and by making continual updates all prompted with natural language.

The cost of each project has been lowered to $9 as performance with smaller models has improved (I migrated from Claude-3-Opus to gemini-1.5-flash).

Thanks for checking it out!

Congrats in launching this.

One point of feedback, as a developer I click the page and look for something to try it out, see it in action, screenshots, anything. Only thing I see is some text, no call to action, except signup/login but I won't take the effort if I'm not convinced more that it's a waste of time. If the url to the github is the main thing, don't put it at the...bottom, make it a button at the top.

I would just really put some extra effort in the landing page, Google how to see others do it. https://www.landingfolio.com/ is a great place as well to see example. You've run a marathon with building your product which is great, but if you don't finish this last mile (landing page)...

Good luck!

You're pretty spot on about where I'm coming from! I will focus on the landing page before I try to make any more backend improvements. I was trying to keep it simple considering how gimmick-y some of the frontend styling for landing pages has become but there's definitely still room for improvement. Thanks for the feedback!
Hey gr00ve! Congratulations on shipping.

How good is your Software Engineer? Can it do a good frontend work?

To showcase your SaaS, its landing page should be high quality and created by your AI. Otherwise not many people will be interested. Yours is quite unappealing, no images, no icons, no colors.

Technically the frontend was created by the AI. Just wanted to keep things simple since the only other real trend in AI landing pages is a rainbow gradient and I didn't exactly want to hop on board with that. Ideally I could host a few example web apps at a live URL and the landing page can definitely look better. Its in the backlog!
Well yours lose to the majority of rainbow gradient landing pages so if you are going to ask money for it you should aim to at least develop it to the level of the bottom of the competition.
Can the AI software engineer help you create better landing page ?
Updated the landing page with a url to an example full stack ecommerce app :)
