At Fluidworks, we're building an AI agent to conduct live video calls for sales demos and onboarding sessions.

Presently, our agent can:

- Engage with customers during live video sales calls - Follow scripts crafted by the sales or onboarding teams - Demo software functionality in real time, interactively - Address inquiries and provide demos - Present slides based on queries (currently static, with plans for dynamic integration)

Our roadmap includes:

- Integration as a Zoom/Meet app - Enhancing demos with studio-like cuts

Something interesting we figured along the way is that sales teams prefer AI agents to skip small talk, but customers appreciate it. Adding small talk has increased customer engagement by almost 60%. Despite a small sample size of approximately 75 live calls, with 40 including small talk, it's an intriguing observation.

I’m part of the engineering team and I wanted to share a little bit about the engineering bit of it. We’ve used LLMs extensively across the product. Our general approach has been to use GPT-4 for the higher order stuff and then using 3.5 for the actual execution of the individual actions. We’re using vocode for audio, and playwright + webrtc for the video part.

The bot can certainly do the product demos and the SDR can come in to close the deal. It'll free up the SDR's time to focus on price negotiation and say closing the deal while the bot can do the first couple of demos needed for the customer.

Indeed, for a small startup with no dedicated sales resource, this is just great to get the initial interaction going on without any wait times or email exchanges.
