It might be even quite an advantageous trait in our fast changing modern world of LLMs, constant distractions, and uncertainties.
But in this society, advantage is related to profit and not evolution.
No no no no no there is nothing advantageous about this. It's real and actual suffering.
The real & actual suffering is dependent on both the degree of the ADHD, and the person's living situation, no?

There are many hereditary traits for which having a "mild case" is (or was) clearly advantageous and adaptive, but having a "severe case" is (or was) not.

Genes, mutations, and heredity are wretchedly sloppy optimizers.
