We use AWS instead of Vercel to host our Next.js app (graphite.dev)

This team used ECS to replace Vercel, I've also seen Amplify used at one of my clients. We had some issues with Next.js upgrades and other minor things breaking, but it seems to mostly work fine. I wonder what other approaches there might be.

It seems that hosting Next.js (outside of Vercel) is one of the biggest headaches with the framework. I'm not a big fan of vendor lock-in so hopefully this continues to improve.

Completely agree. Hopefully the open source nature helps keep this door open.
Anyone else find Vercel product to be fantastic, but pricing to be brutally hard to estimate?
At my old company Vercel raised our rate by like 40% for enterprise after we had DECREASED usage. It was asinine
