1 points by kuraf 983 days ago
Hello HN community!

We've been working tirelessly on XNote, a groundbreaking blend of the tangible note-taking experience we all love, fused with the power of AI. The core idea is simple: take notes like you always do but have the ability to interact with them conversationally.

Key Features:

- Digital Synchronization: Seamlessly transfer your handwritten notes into digital format.

- Intuitive Handwriting Conversion: Our AI turns your scribbles into coherent digital text.

- AI-Powered Chat & Search: Ask your notebook questions and let it fetch answers from your notes.

- Automagical Categorization: Say goodbye to manual sorting; XNote organizes your notes for you.

- Instant Summarization: Distill pages of notes down to the essentials in seconds.

- Smart Task Detection: XNote spots and highlights tasks within your notes, so you never miss a beat.

Our vision is to bridge the gap between the physical and digital realms of note-taking. We believe in the tactile satisfaction of writing while reaping the benefits of technology.

We're gearing up for our Kickstarter launch, and we're eager for feedback, suggestions, and any potential integrations that the HN community thinks would be beneficial.

Thank you for your time, and I’m here to answer any questions!

Hi yoichi!

1. Yes, the pen uses actual ink. It's designed to give you the traditional writing experience while incorporating digital functionalities.

2. Replacing the ink is easy. It uses regular replaceable pen ink, and we provide five extra inks in different colors for versatility and creativity.

3. The battery duration is about 18 hours with continuous use. But with typical usage, it's designed to last a week or even two between charges.

4. Absolutely, our pen and app are designed to work seamlessly with both iOS and Android devices.

5A. Regarding browser usage, the primary function is within our proprietary app, but stay tuned for future developments.

5B. Interesting fact about the notebook: while it feels and behaves like a regular one, it has patterns that are invisible to the naked eye. The pen's sensor detects these patterns to ascertain the page number and exact location of your writing.

6. Once filled, you can easily purchase additional notebooks. They won't be overly expensive since there's no electronic component in them.

7. Once written, your notes are digitized and sent to our proprietary XNote app. From there, they are securely stored, and you can access, edit, or share them whenever needed. The application also provides options for organizing and categorizing your notes for easy retrieval. Future updates will offer integration capabilities to other platforms and tools.

8. As for app compatibility, the pen currently works exclusively with our proprietary app. However, we're laying the groundwork for integration with third-party platforms, like Zapier, to offer a wider range of functionalities.

Thanks for the thoughtful questions, and we hope you're as excited about XNote as we are!
