Show HN: DomainHacks – no more boring .coms (domainhacks.info)
3 points by Tillgg 1040 days ago
Hi folks, I am Till, the solodev behind the little side project domainhacks.info. The story began 7 years ago, when I taught myself coding using the good old LAMP stack. This was my very first project and was as-is on the internet for the next 7 years. Fast-forward to beginning of the year, when I got laid off during the great startup recession. I needed something to entertain me and I decided to revamp the whole site using NextJS and FaunaDB. Now, the site has 15 unique hacking methods like LEET hacks and phonetic hacks, using all 1466 available TLDs. I've also just introduced pricing tiers after the previous affiliate program only earned $60 despite over 2000 (possible) domain registrations in the previous 7 years. Try it out with keywords 'grapefruit', 'awesome', or 'outrageous' for a sneak peek of all results. However, with the free tier you'll already get 99.99% of the good results. Happy to discuss the tech stack, features, feedback and lessons learned!

Perfect for phishing and domain spoofing attacks.
I, of course, absolutely do not support the use of domain hacks for phishing, spoofing, or other malicious activities. I understand that tools can be misused, but my intention is to foster creativity. If you have any suggestions on how I could make this clearer or implement features to discourage misuse, I'm open to hearing your ideas!
