Glanced at the LinkedIn thread, a little of the twitter feed, and the Blind discussion from 2017. Safe to say things are the same if not worse. Not great.

I don't totally hate Amazon myself, but I do believe this site had it's merit and I'd like to see it restored otherwise I have to assume the worst

Came here to say this. My guess is that Amazon paid them to go away. If my guess is accurate ( I could certainly be wrong ), then Amazon could have them add a robots.txt banning archive.org. If they do that access to the archive will be removed. Mirror it now if you want the content.
