Is Personal Website Required? (janardhanpulivarthi.com)

Who would require a personal web site? How many personal web sites do you look at? A good personal web site may count for something, but not having one doesn't really send a negative message. I have my own site but I don't have time or inclination to maintain it, and that doesn't seem to matter to my customers.

Certainly whatever "tech stack" you choose for a personal site makes no difference at all unless you can use the site to show off some exceptional skills. It's all plain HTML and JS in the browser, what you use on the back-end makes no difference to anyone but you.

You might not want to put an essay about "I'm too tired to do anything" alongside your professional resume.

A quote straight from my personal website:

> You shouldn’t get too hung up on the stack or tools. Choose something that’s handy, that lets you do your work, and get started. Getting started is crucial.

The answer to your question is a classic "it depends". I maintain my personal site to learn about web development and keep stuff documented that I might come back to. Your motivations, and accordingly the answer to this question, may vary.

I tried a lot of tech stacks and platform. In the end I decided upon the basic html hand coded theme.

Dilemma's I faced with personal website

  - Searched endlessly on internet what to include in the website
  - latest technology vs hand coding with latest specs
  - I have spent a lot of time thinking about domain name, in the end I decided my full name.

do folks believe personal website required? or what is your take on this?
