Hi community! I would welcome any valuable suggestions on how to improve today's home repair online marketplaces (Thumbtack, TaskRabbit and others). I'm building 2 iOS apps: one for customers and one is for providers. Currently I have about half of initial functionality done and I plan in about 2 months to have the first MVP released to AppStore.
It would be a big improvement if you posted a link to the app when it's actually available.

I'm also not sure if an iOS app is the way to do it. Why should I download an app that joins the cluttered mess of twisty little icons that all look alike on my iPad (making it harder to find the apps that I really do use regularly) for some need I only have sporadically.
What advantage does this have, for either the customer or the vendor? What if either of them uses Android? Would it be better to do this on a big wide monitor on a computer or to do it on some tiny screen?
The app is going to have an ability to make a picture of a repair/improvement service. For example, I need to install a new ceiling fan so in just a few quick steps I will be able to post my project which will include pictures. Providers will be able to send offers for projects. For them a mobile app maybe convenient since they are all day on wheels traveling from one customer to another.
I decided to start with iOS apps because I am an iOS engineer. If this works out, I'll plan to expand it to other platforms with some additional help.
Whether providers are going to want to plan their next gig when on the go bears testing. Our handyman works out of a home office and has a long queue to get things done (as do most of the others in our area.)
