Show HN: Visualize your Apple Health data in Grafana

Hi HN, I made a tool for displaying your Apple Health data (activities, workouts, body metrics) and display them in Grafana to be manipulated, aggregated etc. It's useful for finding trends, get daily/monthly/yearly stats and visualize outdoor routes on a bigger screen !

Very cool! But manually exporting data is kind of tedious. Would it be possible to integrate this with “Health Auto Export”? It’s an app that allows you to automatically export your data to an MQTT endpoint, home assistant, or a REST API, among others.

Hi ! I wasn't aware of this app. That seems like a great feature ! Having to do the export manually is not very friendly, but I'll check this and see if I can integrate with it one way or another.

Unfortunately I don’t know much about grafana (it’s been on my todo list for over a year now) so I can’t help with the feature request . But I’m pretty sure the app can export data to a self hosted database like Postgres. At that point, I don’t think it should be too difficult to get the data into a grafana dashboard.

Now someone's gotta mash up their production dashboard and Apple Health data to map their heart rate spike to receiving their production outage alert

If there isn't a direct correlation and a rise in heart rate, you've either got a super confident person with ice water in their veins or a saboteur

There is so many things you can do with a tool like Grafana. What are ithers using it fir besides stuff like this? Would it make sense to use for personal finances?
