I’m obsessed with business ideas. Of course I realized I’d never get to them all so I do something similar to this — send them out.

As a competitor in the space I can’t resist tooting my own horn a little bit — I happen to also produce ideas of the unvalidated variety [0] and just crossed 1000ish subs and was pretty excited about it.

Startups FYI is kind of the inverse of what I do (the startups are validated, for the most part), so for the more adventurous reader, check out Unvalidated Ideas!

I can guarantee theres at least one great idea in the almost 120+ I’ve put out — I just don’t know exactly which one it is :)

I’m particularly proud of some readers that have taken an idea and run with it, like

https://www.contractrates.fyi (idea was mentioned in edition 12)

Newsletters are off-topic for Show HN. It can be a regular submission instead. https://news.ycombinator.com/showhn.html
I'm sorry I wasn't aware or I would've posted the link to the website (startups.fyi). Should I edit this submission or do you require me to re-submit?
No problem. I think within 30 minutes you can still edit the title.
Done this but looks like my post has been hidden? :(
Showed up for me on the front page.
This looks like a straight up pyramid scheme. It’s a website/ newsletter about small startups for sale . I feel like this would stupidly easy to pump full of garbage for sale .
Often imitated, never duplicated — If you need external inspiration for starting a business your chance of success will tend toward zero.
I get where you are coming from and generally agree, but I likely would not have experimented with "side project" had I not seen others do so successfully.

The way I look at it - other people have validated that it is possible, which means I do not have to.
