The article doesn't mention what was promised, so I'm going to go ahead and assume that nothing was actually promised, and this is the NYT being NYT.

Remember when we all instinctively trusted NYT?

They delivered on that. That was the zero-rating of a set of selected online properties.

Granted, the motive was super ugly, but they did deliver on that. I remember writing code/config for that stuff (not in FB, but in a partner browser company.)

Africans should take the win. Keep these guys off continent for as long as possible unless they bring FOSS and hardware.
