Two things I find hard to believe:

1. That guy isn't in prison?

2. That guy convinced someone to invest in his venture?

one VPN I would never pay money to

Con men usually manage to con other people?

He went to prison in Japan and served his term.
He didn’t go to prison.

He was sentenced on March 19, 2019 to 30 months in prison, suspended for four years, meaning he will serve no time unless he commits additional offenses before March 19, 2023.

I perhaps stand corrected?

He did spend a considerable amount of time in prison.

> Mark Karpeles, who has been spending time in a Japanese jail for the past 10 months is finally out.

It seems he was also earlier found guilty of fraud in France also https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2014/08/why-the-head-of-...
He was convicted in Japan because everybody gets convicted in Japan, especially a foreigner. But he saw no jail time.
fake news. He did not.
“Probably you won't believe me when I tell you a given exchange is safe to use - and you should be wary of anyone who says that - but you should definitely believe me when I tell you an exchange is about to go under.”

He makes a compelling argument.

If this service tells you that an exchange is bad, you should stay away. And if it tells you it's not bad you should stay away.

>The crypto-currencies and cryptocurrency-related businesses are very risky, and as such have a high potential for returns

Russian roulette is very risky, does that mean blowing my head of is high potential for returns?
