Show HN: Sense – Webcam-AI makes your mouse cursor appear where you look (sense.eyeware.tech)
4 points by bapre 1330 days ago
Hi HN,

I'm Bastjan from Eyeware. We've built an eye-tracking app for the webcam that makes the mouse jump to where you're looking, also between multiple screens. The idea is to reduce mouse movements, especially repetitive ones (e.g. for coders, designers, ...) like switching from one screen to the other. Try it for free here: sense.eyeware.tech

PC users with repetitive strain injuries, or maybe more generally assistive tech users, might see an even stronger benefit.

We've also inserted privacy features from our collab with AMD (AMD Privacy View) such as presence detection (it locks you out automatically when you leave your PC) or privacy view (blurs areas that you are not looked at).

What features would you like to see next? What would you like to see improved?

FYI: We've released last year an iOS app with gaming and streaming features, which can be ported to Eyeware Sense: beam.eyeware.tech

Privacy note: The app does not generate or store any biometric data. Sense also does not use the camera feed or turn the camera on unless you activate one of the features.

What's the best open source alternative right now?
Ah I’ve been wanting this for years. But no Mac support yet :(. Can I get on an email list or something for when that gets built, assuming that’s the plan?
Happy to hear that. Which feature were you looking forward to exactly and for which use case? We'll expand to Mac eventually. You can sign up here for updates: http://eepurl.com/dBFrBb
I wanted to try it, but until the download link it never mentions it's windows only. So any plans on releasing a Mac version?
Thanks for the comment. I'll tweak the page to make it more obvious. We'll expand to Mac eventually, but I have no release date to share here. Feel free to sign up to our newsletter to get notified: http://eepurl.com/dBFrBb
