| Hey all! FoodFreebie connects those that want free food for tech meetups, usergroups, lunch & learns, hackathons and more -- with those wanting to sponsor the food. Sponsors can be anyone but are typically recruiters, startups, creators and others. In exchange, sponsors have the opportunity to share a promo message at the event. I'm a developer, and get tons of inbound request from recruiters. Most dev friends tell me they experience the same. But, it seems to happen in my email/text in ways that always feels a little clumsy and cold. Because free food is awesome, I'd more readily trade a few mins of attention to get hooked up. I thought about andrew stuart's old freepizza board and figured there could be a way to help connect sponsors and hosts. It feels like a fun experiment. I've prompted several recruiters & have seen some interest so I created a list of sponsors who are offering free food for tech talks, meetups, & hackathons.
