This is the worse than the corporate dystopia I imagined back in the 90s.
Office Space but it takes place entirely at Peter's dining room table via a VR headset.
When will they announce shadows? I am so excited for every state of the art technology dribbling out of Meta these days.
Is FB on track to add one body part (or related feature, like a shadow or perhaps arm hair) per year? Impressive. How long until this Meta Verse project is "done" dribbling out?
Will never be. The “privacy” feature will never be released.
Meta can announce whatever they like. Does it really matter at this point? I believe the public has spoken. Try again, Mr. Zuckerberg.
The public bought 10 million of these things as-of Q1 2021. Something is working...
But they're doing it to play steam games, not to spend time in whatever the metaverse platform is called.
For now. I do not expect Meta will allow headsets indefinite multi-source operability. At some point they will force a rift between first party and third party games, but not until they’ve truly starved major competition out.
Remember when people bought cell phones primarily to make phone calls?

Mark thinks he sees where this is heading, and rather than just letting people play games with his metaverse headsets, trying to gain market share and dominance by legitimately anticipating desire, instead he’s going to drag them towards the future he imagines, kicking and screaming.

The people might be kicking and screaming, too. Wouldn’t you?

I really don't care, I don't know anyone that does other than Facebook and tech websites.
They should announce Brains on Halloween.
Was joking with some friends a few days ago that, even without legs on their avatars, The Internet will eventually find a way to make teabagging each other a possibility.

And then we get this.

So begins The Bagenning.
