Cost of Medicine vs. Insurance (twitter.com)

Is this really true? Is an overwhelming cost of medicine insurance?
The off book price of services with and without insurance can sometimes reveal a giant cost/price disfunction. Insurance being willing to book price things at $1000 and then behind the door negotiate the $25 the actual cost reflected, drives more people to take insurance. So, medical processes which expose "you will pay x" designed to give truth to costs, are now a vehicle for "if you don't have insurance you will pay x, if you do, its cheaper" which is... advertising.
Wow, this is surreal!
