Not sure if this is meant to be a subversive crypto-promo, or author actually considers Bitcoin successful by associating its price with legitimacy. It was meant to be a currency, and it's become an investment vehicle. That's not success.
I'd suggest applying the 20-year rule here; ignore anything after 2002 so we can get a proper historical perspective, and is less subject to opinions like ours.
