Seems strange to me that this wasn't what Pine and Librem chose to start their mobile endeavors with. You simply can't yet compete with 15 years of smartphone developements by the biggest tech companies ever. Having a completely open landline, dumb cellular and feature phone should be the logical path. Especially to let the developers build up their expertise and then finally move to touchscreen gestures, animations, haptic feedback, etc.
