I appreciate iFixit's role in the whole 'self-repair' movement, But exclusive deals for parts means absolutely nothing for developing countries and in fact counterintuitive for the environment as the e-waste are dumped in these countries.

Mobile repair shops in every corner in India aren't going to ship parts from iFixit even if possible by paying at-least 2X the shipping cost for the part which is already priced at a premium and then pay + huge import duties over the top. It would be funny if that actual phone was made in India.

Manufacturers should make the parts available on their website and to the repair shops locally if the era of fixing our phones has to nearly arrive.
