'Smart' generally implies that it can do something on it's own.
I want to crop an image, I give it parameters for how I want the outputted, cropped image.
If I use a smart crop function, I expect it to use some engineering magic to determine where the activity is happening in the image, and making it's own estimated crop.

This doesn't sound like there is anything smart about it.
PS Don't take this personally, I generally dislike calling anything "smart", "AI" etc.
