I am 100% for deconsumerizing, but would like a more positive basis. The gulf is massive. I'd like to see a humanity that is more open, more exploratory: more able to seek understanding, can try things, can experiment. The natural universe & world gave us endless ways to develop ourselves as individuals & as societies, but the consumer world is opaque, a far off machination, producting products that defy understanding, that are resistant to so called "tampering".

This is an anti-human, anti-intellectual, anti-empowering degredation, an active obsteuction of the best of human spirit.

Companies and consumers are ok, but there can & must be great shifts to wards makeling the partnership more equal, to make companys & their means & their products more transparent, more diyable & learnable. Society is forgetting some of it's essential self, it's place in the universe, & losing it's inherent dignity as the corporation thieves more and more of our species joint mastery & competency, as understanding effervesces up and up to fewer and fewer ever more hyperindustrailist megacorps. We are losing important basis for self respect.

Awe is impossible when truth is so deeply occluded. We should have more awe in what we are, in what we have built, and the social crisis of the world are often a byproduct of this inability to see ourselves that consumerism has veiled upon us.
