you don't seem to get it, especially after so much coverage of the topic, the initial immuno-design was for the original COVID-19 strain, as the virus mutates and new variants emerge the efficacy of the original vaccine decreases; you have two options: a) get more immune protection from additional doses or b) get a new vaccine that is specifically designed for the new variant. ultimately, new and more variants will become weaker, and COVID will approximate the flu. this will require annual shots.
I'm 'surprised' drug makers are allowed to run their own trials, and, when they do, that people trust anything they say.

It could be reasonable to automatically release the data the FDA gets upon FDA approval of a liability-shielded vaccine.

It's probably nothing, so why not release the data and put the conspiracy theories about data integrity to bed?
