I guess I'll just have to wait for Scott Alexander to get around to reading this, and put in the hundred hours or so necessary to search through the papers and find out what the truth is.
We are living data points right now, I don't think we are post fact, I think we are pre fact ... in fact.
Totally agree though about the inability to interpret complex arcs of reality based on some selection of this or that study. The story that emerges should always be understood as skewed towards the narrators intent.

This seems improbable, but AFAICT you wouldn't expect it even in lab passaging.
